Let’s dance with Dansmuseet: The World is Dancing

Let yourself be swept away by the rhythm of dance when Dansmuseet visits Skansen! Come and explore different dances and dance styles with us.

  • Between May and September 2026, Dansmuseet will visit Skansen and invite you to try different dance styles led by experienced instructors. Each date offers dance sessions both for the youngest members of the family and for dance-loving adults.

Each session takes place at the dance floor at Bollnästorget and lasts approximately 30 minutes. No previous experience is required – just curiosity and the joy of dancing!

    Today’s programme

12.00 and 13.00 – The Whole World Dances

We’ll do a pirouette like in ballet, try rhythmic dance steps to hip-hop music, and then dance imaginative and playful movements to West African rhythms. Lots of dancing joy promised! Suitable from age 4 and up.

15.00 – Family Workshop – Dance for Everyone!

An introduction to the wonderful world of dance. We will try ballet, hip-hop, and West African dance with simple movements suitable for all ages. Dance-loving adults are welcome too.

  • Information

Dansmuseet (The Dance Museum) is a one-of-a-kind museum dedicated to dance and movement, founded in Stockholm by Rolf de Maré in 1953. The museum’s activities include exhibitions, performances, music experiences, and workshops.

Dansmuseet is temporarily closed while relocating to Hagalund in Solna. At the same time, the museum is undergoing a renewal process with the aim of becoming a cultural destination for families with children. The new Dansmuseet is expected to open in 2028/2029. Until then, you can visit Dansmuseet Lab – a new meeting place in Hagalund where the future museum will take shape. Dansmuseet Lab will open after the summer of 2026.
