Stockholm's Glassworks

Here you can watch skilled glassblowers create unique glass objects with both artistry and precision. They are happy to explain how sand is transformed into glass and to demonstrate each step of the process. Beside the workshop, you’ll find an exhibition and shop where utility glass, decorative pieces, and art glass are on display—perfect for discovering a new favorite. Custom designs are also made here, along with the distinctive cracked Skansen glass, a tradition dating back to 1933.

In recent decades, Sweden’s once-thriving glass industry has declined sharply. What was once a major national craft has largely moved abroad, with most everyday glassware now produced in other countries. Today, Swedish glassmaking survives on a smaller scale, and Stockholm Glassworks is one of the few places where this proud tradition continues to flourish.
